Dude, you have no clue what a postmodernist is, you’re too emotional to figure it out!

Postmodernism is cynicism + the fear of reason

Post-modernity is characterized by saturation of information and consumption, pleasure of using goods and services, lack of values and meaning of life, reflecting a post-modern apathy, lacking projects, postmodern man’s interior life has no substance, the grand narratives have collapsed, cynicism is the inevitable result of a loss of faith, and that a certain ironic wit and negativity is all the postmodernist has left, cynicism has gone from being a survival tactic towards becoming an end in itself, postmodernism’s trade-mark is the sneer of self-conscious irony, lacking a foundation for ethics, or a scientific basis for social analysis, has no other terms to assess anything on, other than subjective impressions and existing cultural values, applying his three tools of decadence, relativism and irony, the postmodern aesthete becomes either decadent, reactionary or nihilistic, because it has misconceived rationality, postmodern thought has turned against reason, postmodernity has become characterized by a fear of reason, all diagnosis and no cure.

Yeah, thats so not me at all…You know its almost scary to know there really are people that would answer yes to all of the above…

  5. 2008 October 23

LOL! I know! At least it would be embarrassing if they admitted it!

No, they would be identified as answering yes to all of the above, then they would accuse the identifier of being a racist or hate monger and then slander them to no end…all smoke and mirrors sister, keep the focus off the fact they are completely out of the realm of reality ~laughing~

    Definition of “modern”:
Of or relating to recent times or the present.

So I guess that a “post-modernist” is one whose time has passed, even as his time has come. Or one whose time has already passed him by.

Or it is probably a made-up term that makes otherwise stupid people somehow sound intellectual. An illusion that is easily dispelled as soon as their open their mouths.

Yep. Sounds like liberals, all right.

i’m confused about question #9. It doesn’t seem to be a yes or no question. I answered “yes” for two questions so far but until I know the right answer to question #9 I can’t be sure about my post-modernness. Could you please post a follow up with the correct answer for question #9 please. Thanks!

Post-modernists play a game of trendier-than-thou. They feign horror over normal people so they can feel superior and elite. They use the empirical level as a shelf to put their pre-empirical stuff on.
